OBITUARY Margaret Alice Dixon Holt August 6, 1927 – July 15, 2018 Play Tribute Movie Mrs. Margaret Alice Dixon Holt of Lexington, NC, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on the morning of Sunday, July 15, 2018 at the Hinkle House after a brief illness. A resident of Davidson County, NC the majority of her life, Mrs. Holt was born August 6, 1927 in Belmont, NC to the late Jacob James Dixon and Myrtle Hansil Dixon. Mrs. Holt was one of twelve children born to Mr. and Mrs. Dixon. In Fall of 1945 while working at a dime store in Troy, NC, she met her future husband. Although, at the time, she wouldn’t give him the time of day, he would be the one she would spend 70 years of marriage with. On December 22, 1945, she eloped with the love of her life, Curtis Devon Holt, to Danville, Virginia. Mrs. Holt is preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Devon Holt, son, Rickie Keith Holt, four sisters, Olivia Dixon, Connie Dixon Fox, Carol Dixon Hager and Nellie Dixon Allen, and three brothers, William Dixon, Charles Dixon and Lloyd Hansil Dixon. Mrs. Holt was a member of True Light Baptist Church in Lexington, NC. Her Faith was never wavering. Mrs. Holt is survived by sons, Billy D. Holt and wife Donna Fullington Holt, Gary D. Holt and wife Helen DeBerry Holt, all of Thomasville, NC; daughter, Letha Ann Holt Guerra and husband Dio Guerra of Chester, South Carolina; and daughter in law, Yolanda Small Holt, also of Thomasville. Also surviving are her eight grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Bill Holt, Travis Holt, Mark Holt, Brent Holt, Courtney Holt Cardwell, all of Thomasville, Brittany Holt Gobble of Fayetteville, NC, Zachary Guerra and Andrew Guerra of Chester, SC; nine great grandchildren, Justin Holt, Alton Holt, Dakota Holt, Emily Holt, Amber Holt, Kayla Holt, Jacob Cardwell, all of Thomasville, Ricci Faith Gobble and Mason Gobble of Fayetteville, and one great-great grandchild Marley-Jane Holt of Thomasville. She loved her family more than anything. Funeral services will be held at 2pm Wednesday, July 18 in the chapel of Thomasville Funeral Home, 18 Randolph Street, Thomasville, NC with Pastor Harold Harper officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A very special thank you to the staff at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington, NC. You all made her brief stay with you a very warm, loving, calm and peaceful one. Also a very special thank you to Beth Campbell who cared for her briefly while in Chester, SC, and also to her daughter in law, Helen DeBerry Holt who would drive down weekly and spend days on end to help love and care for her.
