Obituary for Marcia Ann (Payne) Oliver Marcia Ann Oliver nee Payne, 78, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, went to meet her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 15, 2018, at Faith Hospice in Byron Center. She was born March 5, 1940, in Grand Rapids, to Alfred D. and Bessie Marion (Hammer) Payne. Surviving are her 7 Children: 4 sons, Richard Duane Berryhill II of Comstock Park, Gary of Sacramento, CA, Jody of TN and Anthony (Sally) Shaver of ND; 3 daughters: Robin (Doug) Johnson of Mesick, Elizabeth (Ted) Felker of Rockford, and Marchell (Ted) Hicks of Rapid City; 5 step-children Terri (Steven) Perkins of AK, Tammi Baker of IN, Julia Bills, Polly and Perry Jr. Kenyon; 2 sisters: Marion Shook of White Cloud and Ardith Payne of Newaygo; 15 Grandchildren: Lisa and StephanieTrude of PA, Amber Berryhill, Crystal Dudley, Christopher James Shaver, Mark Allen, and Cassandra Lynn Emery, Joshua Mathew Peterson, Derrick Himebaugh, Michael James Frantz, Jeffery Garcia, Russell Lee Ackley, Edward Lee Peacock Jr, TeAnna Peacock and AnaLissa (Libbie) Felker; 21 Great Grandchildren: Nathan, Mackenzie, Brianna, Madison, Matthew, Mason, Lillian, Jacob, Bane, Lukas, Jaiden, Jason, Derrick, Adam, Lillian Rayne, Klarrissa, Sophiya, Victoria, Gamble, Elizabeth and Elijah. Many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Marcia loved gardening, quilting, knitting and crocheting in her life as well as spending time with her children and grandchildren or reading by the lake at her daughter’s house. She graduated from Creston High School in 1958, and in the 70s, moved with her children to Texas until 1978. From 1978 until 1994, she resided in Kent County. In 1994, she moved to Traverse City, she went to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Kalakaska, MI. In 2015, she moved back to Kent County where she remained and attended Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church in Rockford. Her father Alfred D. Payne, who perished in the Tornado of Standale on April 3, 1956, her mother Bessie Marion and five brothers: Alfred Embert, Kenneth Eugene, Roger Arnold I, Ronald Howard Sr. and Thomas Allen Sr., await her arrival in Heaven with open arms. There will be no funeral or memorial as per her wishes. Private burial will be at the Courtland Township Cemetery on Myers Lake Rd in Rockford. Date to be announced.
