Louis John Dell’Aquila July 7 1931 October 3 2017 (age 86)

Louis John Dell’Aquila, born July 7, 1931, died October 3, 2017. The baby of ten children of a strong Italian mother, Lou was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Rosasco Dell’Aquila, and is survived by his second wife, Kathleen Howsare Dell’Aquila, five children, and eight grandchildren. Lou attended Washington and Jefferson and Dickinson School of Law. An attorney by profession, an administrator at the Veterans Administration, and a retired Colonel in the Army, Lou’s real passion was cooking. He hosted massive Christmas Eve parties for over 50 years, serving weird seafood and lighting puddings on fire. A “first-generation Italian-American Republican Presbyterian Mason,” Lou had a huge personality, always helping the underdog and arguing the other side. Lou woke up happy every morning, and he loved life, good food, wine, friends and family. Though he did his best to prevent us from mourning him, we miss him every day.
