Leonila Ocampo-Avellana 2018

Leonila “Nene” was born on May 5, 1942 in Bulacan, PI and died in Winchester, CA on July 27, 2018 at age 76. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bonifacio “Chito” Avellana, Jr in 1997. Leonila was a registered Chemist, graduated from University of Santo Tomas 1962, and high school at St Paul College Paranaque ,1958. She was a retired chemistry professor with 37 years of teaching. She moved to California in 2008; she was the homework tutor and piano teacher of her five grandchildren: Bryan, Von Nicholas, Claudine, Charisse and Therese. She was a member of Temecula Senior Center where she enjoyed doing activities with her friends, and started attending bible study group on 2017. Nene is survived by her daughters: Christine, Geraldine, and Donna May; sisters: Maria Luisa, Socorro and Rebecca; brothers: Luis and Wilfredo and loving relatives and close friends. A viewing was held on July 28, 2018 5 pm to 8 pm at England Family Mortuary, Temecula, California; and another on August 5~7 at Samson Funeral Home, Habay Bacoor, Cavite, PI. A Funeral Mass was held on August 8, 2018 1 pm then 2:30 pm Burial at Silangan Memorial Gardens, Ligas Bacoor Cavite where Nene laid to rest with her husband Chito.
