Kenneth “Ed” Edward Gilliland, Jr., of Williamsburg, CO, passed away unexpectedly on August 24, 2018. Ed was born November 26, 1959 Gadsden, AL to Kenneth Gilliland, Sr., and Margaret Brown. A lifelong resident of Fremont County, Ed graduated with the Florence High School Class of “78. Ed was a superb athlete in junior high lettering in basketball, track, wrestling and football. In his youth he loved rodeos, participating in barrel racing and cattle roping Ed was a jack of all trades. Many will know him from his time at Walmart. He also worked as a roofer and artisan, car mechanic and engines repair; really there wasn’t much he couldn’t do. He is survived by his son, Kenneth “Eddie”, daughters, Carrie and Jessica Gilliland, siblings; Janice (Jon) Lawhead, Jim (Sue) Gilliland, Brian Beck; seven grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and brother Gary Beck. He was also preceded in death by his infant grandson Sean Patrick Gilliland (2003). A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Harwood Chapel, 516 N. 10th Street, Canon City, CO. Arrangements entrusted to Harwood Funeral Home.
