Kay Walborn, 70, Falls Creek, passed away Sunday, August 19, 2018 at her home surrounded by family and loved ones. Born March 15, 1948 in Punxsutawney, she was the daughter of Roberta (Lowmaster) Baun and the late Elmer Baun. On August 5, 1967, she married Gary G. Walborn in Punxsutawney. He survives. Kay graduated from the Punxsutawney Area High School and was a homemaker. She enjoyed running, hiking, biking, kayaking, skydiving, flower gardening, painting, roller hockey, and cross… Read More » country skiing. Kay ran in both the Pittsburgh and Boston Marathons. She was a member of the Brockway Church of God, where she served the Lord as a Sunday school teacher. Kay participated in missionary trips to both Israel and Cuba. She was a member of the Quehanna Area Trail Club, served as the CEO of Unofficial Adventures, mentored for Boy Scouts of America bike patch, and was an active participant of Bike Virginia, MS Bike Ride, King of the Mountain, Elk County Striders, NCT, Susquehanna Sojourns, Cameron County Canoe and Kayak Classic, West Branch of the Susquehanna Canoe and Kayak Race, Ridgway Triathlon, North Country Trail Association, and the Pennsylvania Association of Canoe and Kayaks. She loved spending time with her family and friends, as well as her beloved dogs, Jake and Buddy. In addition to her mother and husband, Kay is survived by three sons, Mark Walborn, Falls Creek, Marty (Jeana) Walborn, Brockway, and Kurt (Linda) Walborn, Falls Creek, five grandchildren, Taylor, Lexi, Courtney, Janell, and Tanner, and three brothers, Ken (Gina) Baun, Kansas, Tom (Cathy) Baun, Rossiter, and John (Linda) Baun, Allentown, PA. Friends and family will be received Wednesday, August 22, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and Thursday, August 23, 2018 from 10-11 a.m. at the Adamson Funeral Chapel, Inc. Following Thursday’s visitation, a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. at the funeral chapel with Rev. David Nagele officiating. Interment will be in Beechwoods Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Brockway Church of God, 85 Charnisky Dr., Brockway, PA 15824.
