Woodland Hills Funeral Home 507-387-5504 Kassandra G. “Sandy” Dimmel, age 73 of North Mankato, passed away Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Laurels Peak Rehabilitation in Mankato. Funeral services will be Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at Woodland Hills Chapel in Mankato with Rev. Dennis Heiden officiating. Interment will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park in Mankato. Visitation will be on Saturday afternoon one hour prior to services at Woodland Hills Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to Andreas Cancer Center-Mayo Clinic Health System of Mankato. Kassandra Gayle was born on June 11, 1945 to Harvey A. and Tillie E. (Ferguson) Redenius in Fairmont, Minnesota. She graduated from Welcome High School in 1963. Sandy was united in marriage to Melvin W. Dimmel on April 17, 1971 in Mankato. For many years Sandy was employed as a custodian at Lake Crystal Schools retiring in 2002. She enjoyed reading, crafts, watching game shows and soap operas. Sandy loved time spent with her family and friends. She is survived by her daughters, Jackie Baumgard of Mankato and Lori (Owen) Dundas of Mankato; sons, Rick (Klara) Dimmel of St. Paul and Jeff (Lynette) Dimmel of Shoreview; grandchildren, Dustin and Logan Baumgard, Kristina (Bennett) Rothenberg, Alex Dundas, and Sierra Dimmel; sister, Tyllene “Tiny” (Lloyd) Pearson of North Mankato; nephews, Brent (Stacy) Pearson and Jesse (Kristen) Pearson; niece, Dawn Jagodzinske; very special friends, Sharon (Kevin) Hammerschmidt of Mankato; her faithful cat, Izzy. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Melvin on November 3, 2011; brother, Jerry Redenius; niece, Angie Redenius.
