Karl Heinz Floetenmeyer, 86, of Route 3, Watertown passed away Tuesday, August 21st at his home surrounded by family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Cleveland Funeral Home, Watertown, NY Karl, also known to many as ‘Heinz’ was born in Hagen, Germany on September 14, 1931. He came to the United States in 1956, shortly after he met his wife, Elisabeth Benner Nocera of Watertown. They were married in 1958 and moved to their home of almost 60 years on Black River Road. Karl worked at Black Clausen, Knowlton Brothers, and American Process before owning Speedy Airtools and eventually Chuck-a-Donut at Northland Plaza and Arsenal St. Karl was not only a great baker, but also a master of all trades. He excelled at masonry, electrical, and woodwork. Karl enjoyed working in his shop to make wooden tulips, trains, and hobby horses. He enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Those who knew Karl, knew one of his biggest passions was soccer. This love started at a young age playing soccer in Germany, to never missing any of the World Cup games. Karl is survived by his wife, Elisabeth; daughters Janet Trainor of Derry, NH and Rose Broglio of East Greenbush, NY. Sisters Gisela Nibbe of New Symrna, Fl and Ingrid Ramolt of Hagen, Germany. Six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. His oldest daughter, Eva Gutierrez of Watertown, NY passed away in 2015 and brother Adolf Floetenmeyer of Watertown, NY passed away in 2010.
