Judith Annette DeJesus May 16 1965 August 19 2018 (age 53)

Judith Annette DeJesus was born in Brooklyn, New York to the late Luz Delia Cadiz and Octavio Cadiz Jr. on May 16, 1965. She was their first child. Judy attended Clara Barton High School in Brooklyn, New York. Upon graduation, she attended Borough of Manhattan Community College, with a major in Nursing. While in her elected program, Judy channeled her love of children and changed her major to Early Childhood Education. She then continued her education at Boricua College, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in the same. The children she worked with over the years became her children. She bonded with each one and their families, and hated to see them move on, though it meant her work with that one had successfully prepared them to advance. She loved the classroom. Judy had a bright and bubbly personality. She easily made friends wherever she went, and went out of her way to help if one of them needed her. Judy was an active member of the Pentecostal Church El Lirio de los Valles for over 35 years, and served as Secretary of the same. She had a servant’s heart, and always sought to make the world a better place, one selfless act at a time. She touched many lives, and gave of her time and resources without personal regard. Judy loved the Lord. She lived a life of faith, and was dedicated to speaking the truth to everyone around her. Even throughout her illness, Judy prayed for others and preached the gospel of salvation. She enjoyed listening to contemporary Christian music, including Radio Vision Cristiana on Sunday mornings. Judy loved to sing. We rejoice in knowing she now forms part of a heavenly choir, worshipping the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. Judy met her husband Noel in her home church when it was located on Myrtle Avenue in Brooklyn, and they were married in 1985. They celebrated their 33rd wedding anniversary on April 6th this year. In their early married years, they took in a little boy to raise, and he captured their hearts. Together, she and Noel raised William Steve Santiago, and enjoyed 4 grandchildren: Lillian Annette, Chasity Ann, McKenzie Annette, and Xavier Noel. She was a die-hard NY Yankees fan until the end, and so loved watching them play. Her favorite colors were pink and shades of purple, but now wears spotless white before her Lord and Savior. Judy is survived by her husband Noel DeJesus; her stepfather Boanerge Rodriguez; her sister Rebecca (Cadiz) Baney, wife of Steven Richard Baney, and mother to nephews Steven Joshua Baney and Brian Andrew Baney; baby brother Octavio Cadiz III, husband to Leila Hafalia-Cadiz; numerous aunts and uncles, cousins, second cousins, godchildren, and dear friends. She loved to worship, read the Bible and her daily devotions, shopping, anything Tweety, spending time with family, her friends from work and school, her many, many, many god children, and her “Noey”.
