Obituary for Joyce Sanderson Sanderson, Joyce E. Delton Joyce Elaine Sanderson passed away August 28, 2018 at home. Joyce was born October 23, 1934 in Hastings; the daughter of Howard C. and Marie C. (Nye) Harrington. A loyal employee of Lescoa Incorporated, Joyce retired with over thirty years of service. Joyce enjoyed working in her garden where she grew beautiful flowers, but she didn’t like bugs, especially spiders. Joyce enjoyed cooking and she will be fondly remembered for her scalloped potatoes and macaroni and cheese. Joyce loved all animals, especially her dog Daisy, whom she rescued from the animal shelter. On May 21, 1951, Joyce married the love of her life: Eugene Sanderson, who survives. After retirement, Joyce and Eugene enjoyed traveling and lived in South Carolina for eight years, before moving back to Delton to be near family. Joyce is also survived by a son: Steven Sanderson, a daughter: Deb (Terry) Cole, sisters: Shirley Raymond and Marilyn (Curt) Awrey, five grandchildren: Teresta Pratt, Brad Cole, Lee Ann Phillips, Sarah Lanting, and Kim Ivens, several great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and brothers: Tom, Jim, and Edwin Harrington. According to her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services.
