Obituary for Joyce Arlene Maher Surrounded by her loving family, Joyce Arlene Stokoe Maher, aged 86, died peacefully on August 9, 2018 at the House of John, Clifton Springs, NY. There will be no prior callings hours. Joyce’s funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at 10:00 am at St. Stephen’s Roman Catholic Church. Immediately following mass will be a graveside service at the Oaklawn Cemetery. She was the daughter of the late Earl Stokoe and Margaret Jorgensen Stokoe. Joyce thoroughly lived her life to the fullest! In 1952, Joyce married the love of her life, William (Bill) Maher. Family was everything to Joyce. In addition to being a loving and devoted wife, she was an amazing mother to eight children. All of Joyce’s extraordinary qualities will live on through her patient teaching. She taught us the power of kindness, the value of family, the love of sports, her artistic and creative abilities, and the importance of love. Joyce is survived by her eight children: Cynthia (Chuck) Fratianni, Linda (Sam) Vinson, Sandra (Bill) Kaplin, Daniel (Jane) Maher, Michael (Chris) Maher, Kate (Buzz) Shirley, Patrick (Kim) Maher, and Matthew (Sally) Maher; Twenty-one grandchildren: Lynda Winchell, Alison Fratianni, Patrick Vinson, Grace Sedghi, Courtney LaMontagne, Trevor Kaplin, John William Maher, Liam Maher, Eliza Maher, Jeffery Maher, Lindsay Thomas, Rachael Majchrowicz, Nicole Schussler, Danielle Dunn, Peter Vacca, Joseph Vacca, Jessie Media, Ali Lee Maher, Cody Maher, Brandon Maher, Kelly Maher; twenty-two great grandchildren: Madalyn Joyce Winchell, Carly Lynn Winchell, Aliyah Fratianni, Noah Knickerbocker, Carmine Fratianni, Quincy Fratianni, Noah LaMontagne, Owen LaMontagne, Keegan Maher, Greyson Maher, Lily Thomas, Wesley Thomas, Jonny Thomas, Delaney Thomas, Riley Majchrowicz, Claire Majchrowicz, William Schussler, James Schussler, Eleanor Schussler, Rachael Dunn, Victoria Rose Dunn, and Remi Madia. She is also survived by her four sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-laws; several nieces and nephews; as well as a number of other relatives and close friends.
