Obituary for Joseph J. Soares Joseph J. Soares, 63, of Ardsley, New York passed away Monday morning at White Plains Hospital. He was born to Angelo and Cecelia (Zdrodowski) Soares in Yonkers, New York on June 25, 1955. As a boy, he worked alongside his father to help manage his family’s business, Reliable Food Market, and was a dedicated and loving son and brother. After attending Lehman College, Joseph became a certified gemologist and opened New Rochelle Coin, Stamp, and Jewelry, which he co-owned for more than 35 years. He married the love of his life, Mary Ellen (Hudd) Soares on July 9th, 1989, and they were best friends during their 29 years of marriage. Together, they raised four children; Lauren, Julia, Katie, and Joey. He was incredibly proud of his family and always a gentle and supportive parent. Joseph is survived by his wife and children, his much beloved sister Barbara Soares and brother-in-law Jim Staziak, his sister-in-law Bobbie DeLuca (Ralph), his brothers-in-law Larry Hudd (Kay) and Chaz Hudd (Liz), many aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins, and close friends. He is predeceased by his parents, great-great aunt, Stephania Jablonska, mother-in-law Lucy (Faillace) Hudd, father-in-law Lawrence Hudd, sister-in-law Jean Marie Hudd-Zeller, and brother-in-law Norm Zeller.
