Obituary for Jonathon MacVean MACVEAN – Jonathon “John” Scott MacVean, age 53, of Sparta, formerly of Kent City, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 18, 2018. John is preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Elizabeth MacVean; and cousin, Brian MacVean. He is survived by his loving sisters, Janice (Dave) Elkins and Jennifer MacVean; cousins, Heather, Allan and Peggy MacVean; nieces and nephews; long-time friend, Bonnie Langford. John was employed at Family Fare in Sparta for 27 years. He always had a smile on his face and was willing to help anyone. John loved music, animals and going to concerts. He was very active at Kent City Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, singing in the choir and volunteering. The family will greet family and friends at the Beuschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Avenue, Comstock Park on Friday, August 24, 2018 from 6 to 9 p.m. A Celebration of John’s life will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at Kent City Chapel Hill United Methodist Church with visitation one hour prior to the service with Pastor Michael Ramsey celebrant. Interment will be in South Martin Cemetery. Please consider donations to Kent County Humane Society in memory of John.
