John Paul Barnhouse 2018

John Paul Barnhouse, 52, of Perry Township, went to be with the LORD on August 25, 2018, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on February 2, 1966. He is a 1984 graduate of Louisville High School and a 1993 graduate of The University of Akron with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. John served in the Navy on the USS Dwight D Eisenhower and in the Reserves from 1986-1994. Upon graduation, he began his career for the Ohio Department of Transportation where he worked for 25 years. John was avid Ohio State Buckeye fan and loved all Ohio sports teams. He also enjoyed tinkering, fixing anything for anyone, landscaping, hiking, playing games or Legos with the kids, pasta dinner on Monday nights and especially Joanne’s pies. John was preceded in death by his dear uncle Norman “Buddy” Downard and grandparents Clyde and Ester Downard. He leaves behind his wife of 25 years Joanne (Leslie) Barnhouse; daughter Victoria “Tori” Barnhouse; step-son Andrew (Lyndee) Beisel; niece Jessica Risher; parents Paul and Mary Jane Barnhouse; brothers Timothy (Sherri) and Michael (Casey) Barnhouse; sister Amy (Harry) Risher; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 10am on Saturday, September 1, 2018, in the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church with Fr. Dyer Officiating. Calling hours will be held from 5-7pm on Friday, August 31, 2018, in the Paquelet Funeral Home.
