John Jack Matheny 1960 2018 (age 57)

John “Jack” Loren Matheny, 57, passed away August 1, 2018. He was born and lived his life in Akron. Jack was a Machinist at Akron Crane and Conveyor and was an Akron Metro Bus Driver. He was a 1978 graduate of Akron North High School and loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Despite his sometimes tough exterior, he had a sensitive side that he revealed to trusted family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Matheny and Lance and Sandy Cossin. John is survived by his sisters, Sally (Joe) Piscazzi of Akron, Margaret (Dave) Callahan of Suffield, Marie Dailey of Akron, Julie (Louie) Falcone of Suffield; brothers, Ed (Maureen) Matheny of Tallmadge, Lance (Dee) Cossin of Atwater; stepmother, Carol Matheny of Cuyahoga Falls; friend and caregiver, Noreen Smith of Canal Fulton; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 6, 2018 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (on the Historical Tallmadge Circle). Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. following visitation at the funeral home with Rev. David Zachrich officiating. Internment will be at Tallmadge Cemetery.
