Obituary for Jewel Billings Jewel Billings Margaret Jewel Silcock Billings, born July 1, 1926, entered rest August 18, 2018, at the age of 92. Jewel was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Margaret (Johnston) Silcock. She is survived by her children—Mary Murphy (James), Ruth Bower (Tony), David Billings (Tressa), Martha Moore (Bob), Rebecca Coffman (Kerry), Sarah Elliott (Rowe), and Nancy Siegert (Steve). Her grandchildren knew her as GranGran. She had 17 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Jewel grew up on San Antonio’s east side and graduated from St. Gerard’s High School. She studied art at the McMay, and she loved painting, sewing, and needlepoint. Until her retirement, she worked as a petroleum analyst for Wright Oil Company and later HB Zachary. She was an avid reader of nonfiction and enjoyed travel. She was a loving mother. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jewel’s memory may be sent to Seasons Hospice, 300 E. Sonterra, Suite 1260, San Antonio, TX 78258. Please include a note designating the contribution for supplies, in memory of Jewel Billings. Services are scheduled on Saturday, September, 1, 2018, at Mission Park Funeral Home, 1700 SE Military Dr, San Antonio, TX 78214. Visitation 12:00-1:00 pm.
