Obituary for Jerry Lynn Mann Jerry L. Mann, age 79 of Clare, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 11, 2018 with his family by his side. On November 20, 1938, Jerry was born the third son of the late Wilbur and Ilo (Athey) Mann in Gladwin, Michigan. Other than a brief time spent working near Flint, Jerry was a lifelong resident of the Clare/Gladwin area. During his working years, Jerry spent time with various companies as a machine operator, eventually retiring from Simpson Industries of Gladwin. Jerry was a man of many passions that included mushrooming, building birdhouses and woodworkin, gardening, and especially deer hunting. He also loved to spend time on his Kubota tractors while he hobby farmed, usually accompanied by his four-legged pal Sarge. He will always be remembered for his fun sense of humor and jokester personality. Jerry is survived by his siblings Doyle “Chub” (Shirley) Mann of Gladwin, Arnold (Ardis) Mann of Weidman, Duane “Butch” (Connie) Mann of Clare, and Dawn Seckman of Powell, WY. He is also survived by his 16 nieces and nephews, several great nieces and nephews, his special friend Ona Budd, and his Provagna “hunting family”. Jerry was predeceased by his parents Wilbur and Ilo Mann, his brother Jack Mann, and four nephews. In keeping with Jerry’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 1 P.M. at the Church of Daniels Band in Beaverton. Memorial contributions in honor of Jerry may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
