On August 1, 2018, Janice Eleanor (Albano) Laplante entered into eternal rest. Born in Springfield on February 23, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Eleanor (Steele) Albano. She was a 1962 graduate of Technical High School in Springfield. Jan worked as a waitress at several local restaurants including the Pizza Pub of Wilbraham and Salvatore’s Restaurant formerly in Springfield. She also worked as a travel agent for Liberty Travel and Peter Pan World. She also was a beloved Nanny for several Longmeadow families. Jan is survived by her husband M. Paul Laplante, her four children; Tony Brehart and his wife Liz of Gurnee, Ill, Michael Brehart of Cumberland, RI, Todd Brehart and his wife Catherine of San Diego, CA and Tracy Nevins and her husband Paul of East Longmeadow, her 6 stepchildren; Michael Laplante of Douglas, MA. John Laplante and his wife Christina of Glastonbury, CT, Jim Laplante of Vernon, CT, Cherie Laplante of Springfield, Nicole Liquori and her husband Chris of Windsor, CT, and Joseph Laplante and his wife Alexandra of Houma, LA, and her greatest joys in the past years, her 13 grandchildren with a 14th on the way; Michael and Ariana Nevins, Erica and Michaela Brehart, Alexandra Brehart, Dominic, Joey, and Nico Liquori, Madison and Aiden Laplante and Isabel, Madeline and John Michael Laplante. Jan was predeceased by her brother Donald Albano in 2017. Calling hours will be from 2-4 PM Sunday at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. There will be a Funeral Home Service Monday at 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
