James Vernon Townson, “Jim” age 78 of Loudon, passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2018. Jim was born to the late John B. and Mabel (Caldwell) Townson. Born and raised in Loudon, he was a graduate of Loudon High School, Class of 1958. Soon after graduation he enlisted in the US Army and served 4 years. He spent a couple… Read More » of years resting and then got back to work with Avis and Budget Rentals as a car courier where he enjoyed more than 10 years on the road running vehicles. Jim was raised with many cousins who were more like siblings and met with several weekly to share old memories and make new ones. He will be missed terribly by all who loved him. Jim is survived by his wife, Helen Townson, Loudon; son and daughter in law, Shawn and Laetitia Townson, Cumming, GA; grandchildren, Taylor Cholota, Joella and Logan Townson; sister, Nancy Brown, Loudon; niece, Debbie Brown; nephew, Tim Brown; brother in-law, Billy Charles Webb and wife, Dorothy, Kingston; 6 Webb nieces and nephews, Scott, “Little” Bill, Tyawanna, Jamie, Michael and Todd; numerous close cousins, great nieces, nephews and friends. Services honoring and remembering Jim Townson will be held 7:00 PM Friday, August 24th, McGill Click Chapel with Rev. Adam Cook officiating. Interment 10 AM Saturday, August 25th, in Loudon County Memorial Gardens with military honors conferred by the US Army and the Loudon County Veterans Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to the Corinth Cemetery Fund, 6100 Corinth Church Rd. Loudon, TN 37774.
