Obituary for James Knox Whitney Whitney, James Knox Jim died peacefully on August 10, 2018, at home and in the presence of family and loved ones. He was born in 1928 in Granite Falls, was a WWII-era veteran stationed in Japan, graduated from Gustavus College, and had a long career as a beloved educator and coach in the Hopkins School District. His wife of 56 years, Beverly, died in 2010, and he is survived by his daughter, Anne (Desmond); sons, Brad (Jane) and Scott; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; and his dear companion, Margaret. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, October 14, with visitation beginning at 12 noon, and reception following the memorial, all at: Washburn-McReavy.com Edina Chapel 952-920-3996 West 50th St. & Hwy 100
