Hazel Louise McGill Byers, 82, of New Whiteland, passed away on August 19, 2018. She was born on October 16, 1935 in Fairbanks, IN to the late Leland L. and Mary (Wilson) Fish. Hazel was a member of the VFW Auxillary in Whiteland. She was a fan of the Cubs and Colts. She especially liked Peyton Manning. Hazel is survived by her children, Janie Wycoff, Ronald (Charlene) McGill, Linda Brown, Stephen (Debbie) McGill, Mary “Micki” Carter, Cheryl “Cheri” Scott; 18 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Morris “Mo” Byers; daughter, Brenda Poole; son in law, Willis “Bill” Brown; grandchildren, Chelsea Cox, Angela Marie McGill, and Elijah Thomas Worthington Adkisson. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 24, 2018 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at G. H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home at The Gardens of Olive Branch, 1605 S. State Road 135. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 25 at the funeral home. Hazel will be laid to rest in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
