Captain Hall Scott Kennedy, 82, of Oakland, MD, died Tuesday, August 28, 2018 near Deep Creek Lake. Born July 30, 1936, in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Hall L. and Hazel I. (Connelly) Kennedy. Hall was a graduate of West Virginia Weslyan College in 1960. He served in the United States Air Force Reserve. He was employed as an independent sales representative for the New York textile firm, Shapiro and Sons of Wispersoft Mills while living at Sky Park, Wadsworth, OH. He was also the originator and part owner of Zippy’s Pizza Express, Akron, OH. He fulfilled a lifelong dream while being employed in sales by Marine Max, first in Catawba, OH and then in New Castle, DE. He later returned to his boyhood home and was employed as delivery captain for Deep Creek Marina. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Loretta I. Kennedy; three sons, Scott Hall Kennedy and wife, Karen, Hilliard, OH; Thomas J. Kennedy, Powell, OH; Michael N. Kennedy, Oakland; a step-son, Dion Dutton and wife, Denise, Dalton, OH; a step-daughter, Brandy Hahn and husband, Justin, Akron, OH; one sister, Diana Kach, Sarasota, FL; two sisters-in-law, Grace Heimberger, Winchester, VA; Nelly Scheehan; four grandchildren, Sarah; Ashley; Payton; Sam; six step-grandchildren, Aleesha; Chaz; Dominic; Dustin; Danica; Dalton; and a dear friend, Jan Biasella. Hall will be cremated and no services are planned at this time. Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 1100 Memorial Drive, Oakland are assisting the family with arrangements.
