OBITUARY Gertrude Rodax Rooks February 27, 1934 – August 4, 2018 Gertrude Rodax Rooks 84, passed away on August 4, 2018. She was born to the late Adalbert & Maria Rodax in Vienna Austria. She became a proud US Citizen in 1966. Gertrude worked for S&H Green Stamps for her first job, she then worked in the food service industry for 30 years until she retired. Gertrude loved thrift store shopping, spending time with her children & grandchildren. she brought so much joy to everyone she met and due to her outgoing, bright and caring spirit, there are so many friends we cannot even begin to list them. She was predeceased by her 3 brothers Rudy, Hansi, and Fredel, 1 sister Mitzi; and her best friend Rosemary Rooks. Left to cherish her memory are her 4 children, Billy Rooks, Alice Livesay, Jim Rooks, and Barbara Hollis. With our extended family she gained 2 daughters she loved, Myra Labens and Lisa Gregory. 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and her former husband and friend Albert Rooks and good friend Kathryn French. Gertrude also had her beloved fur baby Prissy. At Gertrude’s request there will not be a service. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the American Cancer Society or any Animal rescue or shelter.
