Gene Venzke 1944 2017

Obituary for Gene Venzke Gene M. Venzke, 72, passed away, Wednesday, November 22, 2017, in Exeter Greens Care and Rehabilitation after a long battle with Parkinson and Lewy Body Dementia. He was the husband of Betty L. (Torhan) Venzke. Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Eugene and Margaret (Eisenhower) Venzke. Gene was a 1963 graduate of Central Catholic High School. He graduated from Villanova University in 1967 and went on to graduate from Duquesne University School of Law. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served in Vietnam. Gene was a attorney practicing law from 1973 until his retirement in 2009 and was a member of St. Catharine of Siena R.C.C. in Exeter. For many years he was a member of the Exeter Lions and loved running and biking in his younger days, but golf was his game. In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons: Michael B. Venzke, finacee of Plum Sites West Lawn and Ben N. Venzke husband of Vanessa (Terry) of Alexandria, Virginia, one grandaughter Natasha. Gene has one sister Joan, wife of Laurence Ward West Reading. Visitation with family and friends will be held on Tuesday, December 5, 2017, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm with services beginning at 2:00 pm in the Lutz Funeral Home, Inc., 2100 Perkiomen Avenue, Reading. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to National Parkinson Foundation, 200 SE 1st St #800, Miami, FL 33131 or Lewy Body Dementia Association, Inc., 912 Killian Hill Rd.
