Obituary for Elwood G. “Woody” Mardis Elwood G. “Woody” Mardis, 79, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Fri. Aug. 10, 2018 in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. He was born Sept. 22, 1938 in Connellsville a son of the late Theophilus Glenn “Bud” Mardis and Esther Dorothy Lietke Mardis Konetsco. Woody was a self employed truck driver. He was a member of the Bridgeport Sportsmans Club and the Hecla Sportsmans Club. He enjoyed camping for many years at his camp in Benezette, Elk County, PA. with his family and friends. Woody will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by his loving wife of 58 years Wanda V. Angel Mardis, his daughters Tammy Mardis Mauk and husband Tom of Bullskin Twp. and Kelly Mardis Lesniak of Scottdale, his grandchildren Justin Greenawalt, Brayden Mauk, Katelynn Lesniak, and Jacob Lesiniak, and his sister Gail Ullery of Mt. Pleasant. In addition to his parents Woody was predeceased by a brother Kenneth Mardis. Family and friends will be received Mon. from 2-4 and 6-8 PM in the Brooks Funeral Home Inc., 406 E. Washington St.w, Mt. Pleasant (724-547-3800), where a Funeral Service will be held Tue. at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Timothy R. Auer, officiating. A committal service and interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville.
