Obituary for Edward M. Schave EDWARD MARVIN SCHAVE, age 83 of Harbor Beach, passed away Sunday, August 26, 2018 at Harbor Beach Community Hospital. He was born on June 27, 1935 in Harbor Beach to the late Otto and Laura (Detgen) Schave. Ed served in the US Army from 1958-1960. He and Anita Gentner were united in marriage on February 3, 1962 in Harbor Beach. Ed worked for Ford Motor Company as a Machine Operator, and retired after 20 years of service. Ed was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Port Hope. He enjoyed working with wood and working with his hands. He especially enjoyed reading the Handyman Magazine. Ed is survived by his wife Anita Shave of Harbor Beach, son: Jeffrey Schave of Harbor Beach, daughter: Christine Schave of Harbor Beach, 3 grandchildren: Ryan, Kyle and Corey Wolschlager, his brother Walter Schave of Port Hope, sister Mabel Siemen of Coopersville, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings: Alfred Schave, Dorothy Pawlitz, Frances Berndt, Arthur Schave and Arnold Schave. Funeral Services for Ed will be Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at 11 am at St. John Lutheran Church of Port Hope, with Rev. David Dodge officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakeview Cemetery. Visitation for Ed will be at the church on Wednesday, beginning at 9 am until time of services at 11 am. Arrangements are being handled by the Ramsey Funeral Home of Harbor Beach.
