Obituary for Edna Allen Posey-Banks Funeral services for Edna Allen Posey-Banks, 87, will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2018 at Antioch Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Zion Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church beginning at 10 a.m. until the hour of the funeral. She passed away Sunday morning, Aug. 12, 2018 at Fellowship Home at Cordelia Manor. She was born Oct. 17, 1930 in Wilcox County, Ga. She was the daughter of Augusta Frank Allen, Sr. and Pearl Holiday Allen. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Terrell Franklin Posey, Sr.; her sisters: Faustine Allen Physioc and Sara Allen Hart; her brother: Frank Allen; and her second husband: James Carlton Banks. She graduated from Crisp County High School in 1947 and attended the Middle Georgia School of Nursing. She retired as a government employee of the FSA Office. She was an active member of Antioch Baptist Church and a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class. She is survived by her daughter: Pamela Posey Volz and her husband James Francis Volz of Cordele; her son: Terrell Franklin Posey, Jr. and his wife Melanie Anne Posey of Bainbridge, Ga.; her three granddaughters: April Lane (Justin) Hauesler, Allie Elizabeth Volz and Jennifer Leal Russell; her nine great-grandchildren: Zackery Franklin Keene, Nickolas Nelson Keene, Benjamin Hunter Walls, Lilly Grace Hauesler, Bryan Curtis Blinn, Kristina Anne Blinn, Georgia Lee Russell, Aleta Jean Devries and Nathan Robert Allen Devries; and her sister-in-law: Neal Posey. She is also survived by two step-children: Gary Banks and his wife Darlene and Denise Banks Nelson and her husband Johnny; three step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.
