Obituary for Doris Mae Shupe Doris Mae Shupe, 89, of Grand Island passed away with her family at her side on Friday, August 3, 2018. Memorial service and celebration of Doris’ life will be at 6:00 p.m. Thursday at All Faiths Funeral Home. A gathering of family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until service time. Burial of ashes will be in Fort McPherson on Friday. Doris was born July 26, 1929 at Florence, South Dakota, the daughter of Clarence and Blanche (Arkland) Reeve. She grew up at Medicine Lake near Florence. She was united in marriage to Delbert “Del” Shupe in Watertown, S.D. on April 6, 1947. Doris was a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker, and also provided in-home care for elderly. In later years, she and Del had a lawn care service. Doris enjoyed knitting, crocheting and quilting, in addition to cooking and baking. Her family remembers her wonderful bread and Santa cookies were a favorite. She was a member of the Saddle Club, Military Order of the Purple Heart, Chapter 632 and MOPH Ladies’ Auxiliary. Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Doug (Jeri) Shupe of Tucson, AZ and Darren Shupe of Las Vegas, NV; daughters, Darla Graper of Lakewood, CO and Dixie (Wain) Codner of Grand Island; brother, Devon Reeve of Watertown, SD; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Del; four brothers, Dwayne, Dale, Darrell and Don; sister, Dorothy; and grandson, Kyle Codner.
