Claire A. (Ledoux) King, 78, of Winter Haven, Florida, formerly of Somerset, wife of Thomas F. King, passed away Thursday, August 16, 2018. A member of the East End Sportsmans Club, she operated the candy store and was know as “The Candy Lady”. She was an “Angel Rides” volunteer, providing transportation for Hudner Oncology Center patients. She was an avid card player, enjoyed knitting and crocheting and was a member of the Carefree Country Club, Winter Haven. Besides her husband of 58 years, she leaves five daughters, Donna Moniz of Somerset, Debra King (James Lipps) of Middleboro, Diane Maxwell (Walter) of Berkley, Dawn Fontaine (Stephen) of New Hampshire and Doreen Cunha of Middleboro; seven grandchildren, Joe Linhares, Tara Linhares, Tom Moniz, Bethany Cunha, Ryan Parent, Nathan DeMello and Samantha Fontaine; three great-grandchildren, Matthew O’Brien, Connor Eaton and Ryder Fincher. She was the daughter of the late Royal and Rita (Ballard) Ledoux and the sister of the late Royal Ledoux, Jr. and George Ledoux. Her funeral service will be held Monday, August 20, at 10:00 AM at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River. Visitation, Sunday afternoon from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
