Chester “Chet” Giacomi, 83, of Williamsport, passed away Monday, August 20, 2018 at AristaCare at Loyalsock. Surviving is his wife of 50 years, Sandra K. (Roche) Giacomi. Born December 29, 1934, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Chester and Sara E. (Schuck) Giacomi. Chet was a 1952 graduate of Williamsport High School. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Following his service in the military he was employed as a clerk for the Reading Railroad and later retired as a painter from P.C. Myers Painting. He was a member of the Republican League, Polish Club, VFW Post #7863, Duboistown, and the Korean War Veterans of Lycoming County. Chet loved baseball. He was a devoted New York Yankee’s Fan and enjoyed going to Williamsport Crosscutters games. Chet had a passion for music and was a talented musician. During his military service he was a bugler in the Naval Corp, was a member of the Black Eagles, and Keystoners. Chet and his wife, Sandra enjoyed going to concerts and traveling to wineries. Surviving in addition to his wife are three daughters, Debra L. Noviello (Vince), of Nisbet, Lori L. Johns, of Salladasburg, and Annette M. Giacomi , of Williamsport, six grandchildren, Travis Johns, Gabrielle Noviello, Zachary Wilson (Rachel), Abigail, Danielle, and Nicole Noviello, six great-grandchildren, a brother, Harry “Butch” Giacomi, of Old Forge, and a sister Nancy Giacomi, of Williamsport. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Philip and John Giacomi and two sisters, Sarah Fitzgerald and Lillian Skeebey. A funeral service to honor the life of Chet will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 27 at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond Street, Williamsport. Burial will follow in Montoursville Cemetery will full military honors accorded by the Korean War Veteran of Lycoming County Honor Guard. The family with receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. until time of service Monday at Sanders Mortuary.
