Charles William Everett 1919 2018

Obituary of Charles Everett Charles W. Everett, 98 years of Atco, New Jersey passed away peacefully on August 16, 2018. Born in 1919 in Philadelphia Pennsylvania, lived in Newportville, Bucks County, Pennsylvania for most of his life until the 90’s before moving to New Jersey with his late wife, Gladys. Charles served in the United States Army Air Corp from 1943-1945. He flew fighter jets in World War II and held as a prisoner of war for a week by the German forces. Charles was a selfless man who thrived to be independent. He was diagnosed with kidney disease in 2015. He was an active spirit and wanted his own independence while fighting the disease, so he decided to work with Fresenius Kidney Care last September in order to find a way to both manage his disease and live his life freely. At 98 years old Charles maintained his independence by administering his own treatments at home by himself. He developed his can-do attitude during the time he served as a fighter pilot in World War II. He became an inspiration to all who knew him and was an inspiration to his family who passed down his valiant noble attitude of “If you are going to do a job, then your going to do the best job possible.” Charles wanted to encourage people living with the same disease to know they can live independently and still live their life even at the miraculous age of 98. He is predeceased by his beloved wife Gladys Everett (Wright); brother, Frank Everett; sister, Edna Dixon. He is survived by his son, Gary A. Everett and his wife Linda; daughter, Beth Frederick and partner Bill; three grandchildren, Keryn Everett Doubleday, Corey Everett and Kata Frederick. Cremation is being held private for the family. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made in Charles name to the National Kidney Fund, (www.kidney.org), the Samaritan Hospice (www.samaritannj.org) or to Employee Appreciation Fund, c/o Residents Association – Mr. Peck, 114 Hayes Mill Road, C-302, Atco, NJ. 08004.
