Obituary for Charles Kinnamon Charles Harry Kinnamon, Sr., 87, died on July 30, 2018 at the home of his daughter Sheila M. Kinnamon Hunteman and husband, Michael Hunteman, in Hurlock, Maryland. He lived in Greensboro, Maryland for over 50 years before moving in with his daughter in September 2017. He was born December 5, 1930, in Bridgetown, Maryland, the son of Lemuel Crosley Kinnamon and Addie Christine Palmatary Kinnamon. He attended school at Price’s Station, Maryland and Greensboro, Maryland. His wife of 46 years, Ella Mae Murphy Kinnamon, preceded him in death in April 1995. Charlie worked at Playtex in Dover, Delaware before becoming a dairy farmer in the early 1950’s. In 1963, he went into business for himself, running a milk route picking up milk for farmers, first for the Bryers Milk Plant in Ridgely, Maryland and then Pet Milk Company in Greensboro, Maryland and Dover, Delaware. In 1968, he went to work for Belmont Foods juice plant in Greensboro, Maryland, working as a local truck driver. When Johanna Farms Dairy of Flemington, NJ bought Belmont Foods in the late 1960’s, Charlie started driving as a long haul driver for Johanna Farms . He ran from Flemington, NJ to Homestead, FL. He retired from Johanna Farms with 30 years of service. Later he would drive for almost 2 decades for Murphy Transport in Greensboro, Maryland. Charlie was part owner in several sulky race horses wtih Nappy and Marion Walk, during the 1970’s and 1980’s. He bought and restored 5 Ford pickup trucks, which he often drove in parades in the Caroline County, Maryland area. He liked to play the sots at the casinos in Harrington and Dover, Delaware. Charlie is survived by his girlfriend of 17 years, Phyllis Harris of Greensboro, Maryland. Phyllis and Charlie loved cruising the Caribbean. He is also survived by his son, Charles Harry Kinnamon, Jr. and wife Lynn, of Greensboro, Maryland; son Ronald William Kinnamon and girlfriend Helen Williamson of Upper Darby, Pennsylvania and daughter Sheila Mae Kinnamon Hunteman and husband Mike of Hurlock, Maryland. Charlie is survived by his granddaughter Leslie Erin Kinnamon Short and husband Randy of Pasadena, Maryland; granddaughter Susan Elizabeth Hobbs Mumford and husband Mike of Mechanicsville, Maryland; grandson Brian Gregory Hobbs and girlfriend Debbie Pilley of Hurlock, Maryland. Charlie is survived by great grandson, Patrick Thomas Conneely of Greensboro, Maryland; great granddaughter Allison Elizabeth Conneely of Pasadena, Maryland; great granddaughter Ella Mae Short of Pasadena, Maryland; great granddaughter Lily Short of Pasadena, Maryland; great granddaughter Natalie Renee Mumford of Mechanicsville, Maryland; great grandson Jacob Alan Mumford of Mechanicsville. Charlie is survived by his brother William Lemuel Kinnamon and wife Gladys of Greensboro, Maryland; brother Francis Wallace Kinnamon and wife Rosemary of Greensboro, Maryland; brother Lemuel Crosley Kinnamon, Jr. of Ingleside, Maryland; brother Dale Palmatary Kinnamon and wife Gayle of Sudlersville, Maryland. In addition to his parents and wife, Charlie was preceded in death by sister Martha Elizabeth (Bettie) Kinnamon and her husband James C. Kinnamon of Salisbury, Maryland; sister-in-law Norma Lee Smith Kinnamon of Ingleside, Maryland; son-in-law Ronald Alan Hobbs and daughter-in-law Elsie M. Sculley Kinnamon. A viewing will be held at Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home in Greensboro, Maryland on Friday, August 3, 2018 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Greensboro, Maryland on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at Greensboro Cemetery, Greensboro, Maryland.
