Obituary for Charlene Marie Nowak It is with great sadness that the family of Charlene Marie Nowak (Schulz) announce her unexpected passing that occurred on August 28, 2018. Charlene “Charlie” was born on September 21, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan. She was the daughter of Virginia and Gilbert Schulz. She grew up in Detroit, and she attended East Detroit High School and she volunteered for the pediatric wing of the hospital. She met her husband, Don, when she was 16 years old and they married two years later. She loved to travel, shop and go to the casino with her husband. She was an amazing party host and one of the best cooks around. She lived to care for those she loved. She is survived and loved by her three children, Derek (Kara), Lynn (Mike) and Debbie (Shawn). Her grandchildren: Nikki, Amanda (Brandon), Samantha (Zack), Parker (Heather), Austin (Ellie) and Selena. She is also survived by her siblings: Noreen, Cheryl and Larry. Her beloved husband, Don, of 56 years passed away at the end of 2017. She missed him everyday. We are at peace knowing she is now with him once again in Heaven. Charlene took care of her whole family, and always brought everyone together. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her humor and her caring personality will be missed by many.
