Cecil R. Elschide Boonville, IN – Cecil R. Elschide, 83, passed away Saturday, August 25, 2018 at the Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville, Indiana. Cecil was born October 22, 1934 to the late Andrew and Nonie (Creek) Elschide in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky. Cecil was a Muhlenberg County High School Graduate and loved to hunt, fish, golf, play cards, go bowling, play softball and baseball. He played semi-pro baseball for Evansville. Cecil is preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Oletta Elschide, a brother, Clyde Elschide; and a step-son, Henry Jefferies. Cecil is survived by his daughters, Tonja Louden (Gary Purviance) of Grandview, Indiana; and Michele Bittles and her husband Thomas of Tamaroa, Illinois; 4 grandchildren, Kendra Wike, Richard Taylor, Brittany (Nigel) Pitman, and Thomas (Brianna) Bittles II; and 8 great-grandchildren. Services will be Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at 1P.M. at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, Indiana with Pastor Carl Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 28, 2018 from 2 P.M. until 8 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
