Obituary for Mrs. Carole Chambers Howard Funeral services for Mrs. Carole Chambers Howard, 69, will be held at 3 o’clock on Friday, August 3, 2018, at the Hartsville First Church of the Nazarene. The Rev. John “Bootsie” Griggs, The Rev. Carey Pratt, and the Rev. Bob Beaver will officiate with burial to follow in Magnolia Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 2, 2018, from 5:00 until 7:00 pm at Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home. Memorials may be made in her honor to Hartsville First Church of the Nazarene, 1909 W. Bobo Newsom Hwy, Hartsville, SC 29550 or to Embrace Hospice, 1831 W. Evans St., Suite #315, Florence, SC 29501. Mrs. Howard entered into rest on Tuesday, July 31, 2018. She was born in Chicago, IL, a daughter of the late Earl and Anne Chambers. She was a member of Hartsville First Church of the Nazarene. Carole earned her BA and a Master s Degree in Education from Appalachian State University. She was employed by the Darlington County Pee Dee Mental Health Center for 32 years and retired as the Director. She taught an adult Sunday School class for 20 plus years. She was a devoted wife and mother, who loved reading as her hobby, and was an avid Gamecock fan. She loved being with her family and loved her late dog, Skittles. She is survived by her loving husband, Ronnie D. Howard of Hartsville, SC; daughter, Megan Howard (John) Carnell of Florence, SC; sister, Nancy (Bob) Beaver of Columbia, SC; brother, Tim (Betty) Chambers of Charlotte, NC.
