Carol Lee Whaley age 78, of Elsie, MI, passed away Monday, August 20, 2018, at Sparrow Health Systems, Lansing, MI. A Graveside Service will be held at Ridge Road Cemetery, Brady Township, on Wednesday, August 22, 2018, at 10:00 A.M., with Mr. Thomas J. Bradley officiating. Carol was born in Saginaw County, MI on November 27, 1939, the daughter of F.D. and Clara Clark (Bowman) Bates. She graduated from Chesaning Union High School. Carol married Richard C. Whaley on November 4, 1960 in Chesaning, MI. Carol was a homemaker and farmers wife. She enjoyed flower gardening and her cats. She is survived by her husband Richard Whaley of Elsie, MI, children: Richard C. Whaley, Clara and Eddie Quintanilla, grandchildren: Erasmo Quintanilla, Joseph Quintanilla, and sisters: Evelyn Krause and Edna Morse. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Christine, and siblings: Willard Bates, Dewey Bates, Mike Bates, Beryle Griffus, Blanche Murphy, JD Bates, Elsie Kulju and Emily Kulju.
