Burl Leftridge, age 91, of Austin, Texas, formerly of Lentner, Missouri, died Monday, August 27, 2018, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia. Funeral Services will be Sunday, September 2, 2018, at 2:30 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home in Brookfield with Pastor Rex Leppin officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Brookfield. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:30 p.m until the time of service at Wright Funeral Home in Brookfield. Memorials to Oak Ridge Baptist Church may be left at or mailed to Wright Funeral Home, P.O. Box 496, Brookfield, MO 64628. Burl Monroe, son of James and Mertie (Powell) Leftridge, was born August 9, 1927 in Lentner. He worked for the City of Austin Power and Light Company in Austin, Texas from 1965 until his retirement in 1986. Burl was a member of the Oak Ridge Baptist Church near Lentner. Survivors include one daughter, Linda Reese and husband, Danny of Brookfield; one son, Michael Leftridge of Shelbina; seven grandchildren, Chuck Reese and Joey Reese of Brookfield, Kylee Leftridge, Megan Leftridge, Morgan Sandoval, Jessica Barrios, and Kara Angel all of the State of Texas; eleven great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren. His parents; three brothers, Dolph Leftridge, Lavern Leftridge, and Murel Leftridge; one sister, Virginia Baker; one son, Douglas Leftridge; and one grandson, Steven Reese preceded him in death.
