Obituary for Bruce Lee Mahlmann Bruce Mahlmann was born in Richmond, TX October 21, 1953 and died peacefully at his home August 11, 2018. He was born to parents, Max and Helen Kraft Mahlmann and grew up on the family farm on Mennonite Road in Richmond. Bruce was a Lamar Consolidated graduate where he made his mark excelling academically and went on to graduate Summa Cum Laude from The University of Texas with a degree in Banking and Finance and was also an active member of the Alpha Phi Omega service fraternity. Upon graduation, Bruce returned to Richmond to work as a vice president at Fort Bend National Bank. Before long, the decision was made to return to the family farm which was his lifelong passion, farming cotton, milo and raising cattle. He was an advocate for the advancement of the cotton industry and served as a member of the South Texas Cotton & Grain Association following in his father’s footsteps. Always on the cutting edge of the agricultural business, Bruce was known to host studies and test plots on his farm acreage, always having a desire to improve the endeavors of the farming industry. Bruce was a proud Son of the Republic of Texas as his family roots can be traced to the original settlers of the Prince Solms party, which settled the New Braunfels area. His Kraft family roots are noted on the ship’s manifesto that made its way to the New Americas. Bruce is predeceased by his parents and his sister Jeanne Mahlmann. He is survived by his loving wife, Debra Mahlmann of Richmond; his son, Brent Mahlmann of Richmond and his girlfriend Brianne Yeoman; his daughter Juliane Jones and her husband, Sam of Sugar Land; his sister Pam Klawitter and husband Art, of Needville; and brother, Ernie Mahlmann and wife Brenda of Needville and several nieces and nephews.
