Obituary for Beverly Jo Hunt Steckelberg Beverly (Bev) Jo Hunt Steckelberg 76, born in Santa Monica, California on May 24, 1942 returned to her anxiously awaiting, heavenly family members on August 14, 2018, while surrounded by her loving family at her home in Layton, UT. Mom was a medical transcriptionist, and also worked at HAFB for many years. She was an LPN active in nursing. After retiring she was a passionate breeder of Smooth Fox Terriers at Mountain Fox Kennels. Her doggies were her favorite past time and she bred and showed many champions. Her last dog Henry was by her side to the end. Mom was active in so many things and enjoyed camping and fishing with her family. Above all she was a committed, dedicated, and passionate Mother and loving wife. Mom was married to Dad until her passing for 57 years. They were high school sweethearts and met in California while attending high school at Clairmont. Mom was a natural volunteer and always willing to give of her time to help others. She was always an active participant in her children’s activities. She was the designated nurse at judo events, score keeper at baseball games, and handmade costumes for dance and drill events etc. Beverly is survived by her husband Dale Steckelberg; children, Lori Steckelberg Wilson, Ken (Angela) Steckelberg, David (Carrie) Steckelberg; sister-in-law, Cleta (Tom) Gibbons; grandchildren, Erica and Kylah Steckelberg, Alyssa (Camden) McArthur, Maranda (Zac) Ewing, Kelsey (Dominic) Porter, Michael Millwood, Braylin and Rylen Steckelberg; and great grandchildren, Kadence Porter, Emma and Jax McArthur, Aiden and Mila Ewing, and Kohen Wolsey. Mom was preceded in death by her parents Ken and Romaine Hunt, Mother and Father-in-law Glen Steckelberg (Leta Evans) and her Granddaughter Macey Steckelberg. A special thanks to our Mothers wonderful hospice nurse, Sage and the others that helped her. And to Carrie Steckelberg, her daughter-in-law for the many tireless hours, day and night, waiting on Mom hand and foot, and taking care of all of her many difficult needs. Your attentive and loving care meant the world to Mom and the entire family. Our sincerest love and gratitude to you. Thank you. A private family service will be held at Premier Funeral Services in Roy, UT located at 5335 S 1950 W, from 2-3 pm on Saturday August 18th, 2018. Friends can come pay their respects at the same location and day from 3-5 pm. Inurnment TBA at West Haven cemetery.
