Obituary for Bettie Ann Lambdon Bettie A. Lambdon was born on April 30, 1941, in Washington, DC. She was the youngest child of the late Elizabeth Marshall Solomon and John Lambert. She was predeceased in death by her brother, Carlton Marshall, and her husband, George Lambdon. Bettie gave her life to Christ at an early age and was baptized at Bethel Baptist Church, White Plains, NY by the late Rev. Thomas H. Slater. She was very active in the Chancel Choir under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Frozine Reece-Smith. She later became a member of Grace Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Samuel Austin. Bettie briefly served as the Church Clerk. She also served as a member of the Church Choir and assisted the Minister of Music in different endeavors. One of her favorite selections was “I Must Tell Jesus”. She maintained the Church flowers for more than 30 years until four years ago when failing health forced her to discontinue. Bettie completed most of her education in Burkeville, VA prior to relocating to White Plains, NY. She received her GED at Rochambeau Alternative High School in White Plains, NY. Bettie was employed at the Westchester County Courthouse, White Plains, NY for 30 years as a Family Court Clerk. She retired in 2003. Bettie’s passion was shopping and home decorating. She loved plants and flowers. Bettie changed the color scheme in her home often. The family knew Bettie as one who would come to your home and start re-decorating including furniture re-arrangement. We would tell her to, “Have fun!”. She is survived by her devoted aunt, Florence Greene; her uncle, Pleasant (Kate) Green; her aunt, Ruby Green; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. She is also survived by her close friends: Sandra Coppin Meyers, Mary Battiste and Monica Lake.
