Obituary of Barbara Amidon Barbara Jean Amidon WATERLOO- Barbara Jean Amidon, 74, passed away unexpectedly on Sat. (Aug. 4, 2018), at Strong Memorial Hospital. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wed. (Aug. 8), at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home LLC, 28 Genesee St. Geneva. Trisagion Prayers and Commendation for Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thurs. (Aug. 9), in St. Michael’s Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church, 98 Genesee St. Geneva, with the V. Rev. Fr. Gregory Murphy officiating. Barbara was born on April 10, 1944 in Geneva and was a daughter of the late George D. and Freida (Baroody) Abraham, Jr. She attended the Freeman Business School and later received her beautician license. In 2015, she retired as a teacher’s aide from Skoi Yase School in Waterloo. Barbara was a very fun loving and free spirited individual who loved to dance and listen to live music. She was an avid reader who loved the sun, and spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren. Barbara certainly lived life to the fullest. She is survived by her daughter, Shelly (Scott) Carr of Macedon; son, Colby (Heather) Amidon of Brighton; brothers, George Abraham of Rochester and Thomas (Leslie) Abraham of New Hartford; grandchildren, Addison and Sydney Carr, Regan, Ethan and Ryan Amidon; loving companion, Greg Sterman of Geneva; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Barbara was predeceased by her sister, Joyce Koehler. Contributions may be directed to Mercy Flight Central, 2420 Brickyard Rd. Canandaigua, NY 14424.
