OBITUARY Arlene Swindle July 19, 1933 – August 22, 2018 Arlene Swindle went to be with her father in heaven on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at the age of 85. She was born to William Roswell Bailey and Anna Elizabeth Johnson Bailey on July 19, 1933 in Phelps City Missouri. She met the love of her life, Jimmie Frank Swindle through their siblings and they married in Abilene, Texas on August 2, 1951. Through Jim’s many job moves, she worked in insurance in several different towns around Texas. Because of her love of people she loved her jobs wherever she was. They retired and moved to Colorado City where they lived on Champion Creek and she truly enjoyed her little piece of the country. She spent hours sitting on the porch swing with Jim and watching the water and birds. Arlene was a very loving, Christian woman. She was active right up to the end of her life. She was very active in the Methodist Church and especially in helping the youth. She was a “Monday Angel” at the Samaritan House and worked baking cookies and taking them to the nursing home where she lovingly delivered them to the residents while she visited them. She touched many, many lives and will be missed by many that loved her. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Jim Swindle; son-in-law, Dennis Rasberry; granddaughter, Kristina Fonesca; brothers, Donald Bailey and wife Mary, and Eugene Bailey; sister, Phyllis Swindle and husband Jack; sister-in-law, Bonnie Solomon and husband Roy. She is survived by daughters, Debbie Escamilla and husband Mario, Pam Rasberry and partner Bobby Vallie; grandchildren, Elaine Escamilla and wife Candice, Carrie Fonesca and husband Raul, Kelli Vallie and partner David Wood, Amy Rasberry and partner Fabian Britto, Jimmy Rasberry and partner Miranda Askins, Robert Vallie Jr., and Conni Wolkersdorfer and husband Mark; twelve great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brother, Ray Bailey and wife Beth; sister-in-law, Delores Bailey; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends; loving church family at First United Methodist Church and the Monday Angels of the Samaritan House. A funeral service for Arlene will be held at 10 AM on Monday, August 27th at the First United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery in Abilene, TX at 2 PM. The family welcomes friends on Sunday, August 26th from 6-8 PM for visitation at Kiker-Seale Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Foundation at First United Methodist Church or the Samaritan Hospitality House.
