Alice Victoria Boyd, 99, born on November 22, 1918 was called home on August 22, 2018. Alice Victoria is the tenth of eleven children. She was the daughter of the late Samuel Young and Mary (Whalen) Young. She was the wife of the late Jesse Hickman Boyd, Jr. The loving mother of the late Jesse Hickman Boyd, 3rd, Nancy Lynn Boyd Montgomery and the late George Elliot Boyd. Beside her daughter, she leaves seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Alice Victoria graduated from Commercial High School and Technical High School, currently called Central High School. She was a member of the Rhode Island Honor Society. She was a board member of the Mount Hope Neighborhood Association. She was employed at Quonset Point in the Hydraulics Division. She was a member of The Daughters of Isis and a two-time passed Commandress. Alice resided at Steere House for eleven years. She made many friends and participated in all activities. Alice loved playing Bingo and she played with many cards. The staff at Steere House were like members of her extended family. She will be remembered for her gentle manner and for her ability to care for others when not feeling well. She was always lending a helping hand to others and always had a smile on her face. One of her favorite past times was to sit at the Steere House front door to welcome people.
