Obituary for Alfonso Argumedo Alfonso, known to many as Al or Bo, died on August 28, 2018. Born to beloved parents Guillermo and Petra Argumedo on July 18, 1945 in “La Colonia” a migrant settlement located in Carrollton Township. Drafted out of the Grey Iron Foundry by the U.S. Army in 1965, his service included one tour of Vietnam with the 196 Light Infantry Brigade as a combat infantryman. He later graduated from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor with a Master of Social Work. His interests varied from continuing intellectual pursuits in history and the arts to being an avid fan of U of M sports teams. He is survived by his wife, the rainbow of his life, Barbara (former Halas), his son Dominick (Monica), and adored grandkids Benja and Andres. Always supportive siblings Audelia Mendez, Almicar (Debbie), David (Lydia), Angel Ricardo, and Jaimie Argumedo and Amelia Lopez who provided such support in his later health challenges. Predeceased siblings are Alicia, Guillermo Jr., Gilberto, Benjamin, and Francisco Argumedo and Amparo Garza. Honoring Mr. Argumedo’s wishes cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will take place 7:00 Friday, September 7, 2018 at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. (between Shattuck and McCarty). Military Services will be conducted by V.F. W. Post #1859. Friends may visit at the funeral home, where the family will be present on Friday from 3:00 p.m. until time of service.
