Benson: Mrs. Wynona Godwin Ennis, age 93, of 3533 Bailey’s Crossroads Road died Thursday, June 21, 2018, at her residence. Funeral services will be 11:00AM Saturday at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church. Rev. Jason Hammersley will officiate. Burial will follow in the Ennis-Stewart Family Cemetery. Mrs. Ennis was born January 15, 1925 in Johnston County to the late Harvey and Harriett Johnson Godwin. She was also preceded in death by her husband, David Benton Ennis; sons, Dwight Ennis & wife, Nancy, Daywood Ennis, and Dennis Ennis; grandson, Martin Ennis; son-in-law, James Dennis Adams; brothers, Branson Godwin, Astor Godwin, William Godwin, Ray Godwin; and sisters, Annie Woodruff, Nannie Verl Adams and Betty Jean Godwin. Mrs. Ennis was the owner and operator of Wynona’s Curtains. She was a member of Ebenezer Presbyterian Church. Surviving are daughter, Becky Adams of Benson; daughter-in-law, Becky P. Ennis of Oak Island, NC; grandchildren & spouses, Jason & Krissy Ennis of Benson, Amy & Jimmy McCauley of Benson, Christy & Wesley Tart of Benson, Greg & Lindsay Adams of Willow Spring, Kim & Gary Robinson of Fayetteville, and Michelle & Jess Alphin of Dunn; 13 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Gray of Southport, Jacque McKee of Wilmington; brother, P. G. Godwin of Arlington, VA; sister-in-law, Edna Godwin of Fairfax, VA; and numerous nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall from 9:30AM to 10:45AM Saturday prior to the service.
