Steven Donald Edmonds passed away unexpectedly while finishing up at his workplace on Friday, June 1, 2018. He was 63 years old. Steve was born in Chicago, Illinois on January 27, 1955. Having grown up in Morton Grove, Illinois, Steve earned the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America. He graduated from Niles West High School in 1973 where he excelled in cross country. He moved with his family to Tucson in 1986 to pursue his career and further his education. A talented auto technician, he was a master of his craft. A lifelong aviation enthusiast, he had a passion for all types of aircraft from RC planes to jumbo jets. Steve was a long time member of the Eagles Club, where he had many friends. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping and boating throughout his life. Steve was a lover of all animals, but had a special affinity for cats. He was a beloved father, son, brother and uncle. He is survived by his son and daugher-in-law Christopher Edmonds & Jeanne Leep of Monona WI, son Brendan Edmonds of Tucson AZ, father Thomas Edmonds of Morton Grove Il, brother and sister-in-law John and Chris Edmonds of Manhattan Beach CA, sister and brother-in-law Sue and Randy Murphy of Mount Prospect IL, and sister Linda Geller of Streamwood IL, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Donna (Nikki) Edmonds. A visitation followed by a memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 12 at 11 am at Richardson’s Remembrance Center. 725 E. 4th St. Benson AZ, 85602.
