Stephanie Stimpson April 14 1965 – June 18 2018

Obituary for Stephanie Stimpson CUSHING – Stephanie A. Stimpson, 53, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2018 surrounded by her family and close friends after a courageous battle with cancer. Born April 14, 1965 in Rockland, Stephanie grew up in Tenants Harbor with her loving mother, siblings and grandparents. She attended local schools, graduating from Georges Valley High School in 1983. Stephanie postponed furthering her education to raise her four children, until eventually graduated with her Masters Degree in Nursing. A career in this field led her to opportunities helping and touching many lives as a nurse and nurse manager at Waldo County General Hospital, school nurse in RSU 13, Director of Nursing at Quarry Hill and charge nurse at Pine Tree Camp. Her love of caring for others allowed her to reach the accomplishments of being a board member of 63 Washington Street as well as the Maine State Board of Nursing. Stephanie’s personal passions included spending lots of time with her family, gardening, cooking, traveling with her husband, crocheting, being at the race track, and spending time at her camp in Dexter, which she built with her family. She especially enjoyed spending time with her close friend Melinda. Stephanie will be best remembered as supportive and loving to all those close to her. Stephanie was predeceased by her brother Edward Rogers; stepfather Ralph Champagne; father-in-law Roland Stimpson; stepfather Gerald Ryan; and her grandparents Edwin and Myrtle Robinson. She leaves behind her devoted husband Stephen Stimpson of Cushing; her mother Phyllis Champagne; her sisters, Patty Ryan, Mary Labady and her husband Louis; children, Chris Mitchell and partner Chelsea, Holly Welch and husband Bert, Joshua Mitchell and wife Aly, Zachariah Mitchell, Stephenie Pinkham and husband Ira, Heather Norris and husband Matt, Dustin Stimpson, and Shane Stimpson and his partner Kelly; grandchildren Tommy, Matt, Elliott, Wyatt, Henry, Anna, Miles, Elizabeth, Hailey, Dustin, and Allyannah; nieces Alyson, Anna and Rosalie. A graveside celebration of Stephanie’s life will be held at 4:00 p.m., Friday, June 29, 2018 at Pleasant View Cemetery, Davis Point Road, Cushing. Although flowers are gratefully accepted, those who wish may make memorial donations to the Sussman House, c/o Pen Bay Healthcare Foundation, 22 White Street, Rockland, ME 04841.
