Stanley “Stan” Joseph Russell, 77, of Burlington, died at 8:54 AM Thursday, June 7, 2018, at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington. Born August 30, 1940, in Keokuk, IA, he was the son of Harry Junior and Greta Habben Applegate Stan worked in production for IAAP for 33 years and was a member of the local union. He was a 1957 graduate of Danville High School. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He was a Mason, Scottishrite Shriner, and Patriot 650.He had a good life, and made sure to enjoy every bit of it. He wished for everyone to always have a good day. Survivors include two sons, Ronald Dean Russell of Burlington, IA, and James (Janice) Russell of Cedar Rapids, IA, one daughter, Renee Warth of Burlington, IA, one sister, Linda (Duane “Red”) Thornburg of Burlington, IA, six grandchildren: Desiree, Nichole, Matthew, Venessa, Kari-shae, Whitney, Kuerra;, twelve great-grandchildren: Lucas, Timothy, Emma, Nathaniel, Kaylan, Theodore, Ethan, Lance, Addison, Hazen, Kollins, Easton; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister (Susan Russell). Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh~Thielen Crematory. There will be no formal visitation or services.
