Shirley Ann Schiman, age 88, of South Bend, IN passed away on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Hospice House in South Bend, IN. She was born on January 22, 1930 in Benton Harbor, Michigan, to Bernard and Frances (Fowler) Johnson. Shirley worked for several years for the American Heart Association in Lansing, MI. Shirley leaves her loving children to cherish her memory, Carol Lynn O’Connor of South Bend, IN, Charles (Donna) Schiman of Stevensville, MI and Craig (Lenora Scobey) Schiman of Hastings, MI. Also surviving are her grandchildren Jaron (Gretel) O’Connor, Carissa (Quin) Morris, Wesley O’Connor, Crystal O’Connor, Aacen O’Connor, Donald (Mayra Garcia-O’Connor) O’Connor and Tiara O’Connor, Her great grandchildren Sophia, Isabelle, Collin, Dominick, William and Alexander. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and her grandson Chad O’Connor, forever almost 8 years old. A celebration of Shirley’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Lakeside Baptist, 515 Michigan Trail, Lakeville, IN. Friends may visit one hour prior to services church. Pastor Vito Rulli will officiate. Shirley will be laid to rest at Porter Rae Cemetery in Potato Creek State Park, North Liberty, IN. Memorial donations may be made in Shirley’s memory to the American Heart & Stroke Association, Attn: Memorial Tribute Processing Center, 3816 Payshere Circle, Chicago, IL 60674.
