Russell Gene Richardson, of Norman, Oklahoma died May 30th, 2018, at Norman Regional Hospital. He and his wife, Betty Gene Richardson, were 20 days away from celebrating their 70th anniversary on June 18th. Russell was born on February 3, 1930 and was 88 years old when he died. He surrendered his life to serve God as a preacher when he was 19 years old. He continued to serve the Lord pastoring churches in Oklahoma, Tennessee, North Carolina, and Illinois. He loved his family and also enjoyed camping, amateur radio and reading. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Betty Gene Richardson of Norman, his son Rick Richardson of Oklahoma City, his daughter LeAnn Richardson of Norman, Grandchildren Dylan Richardson, Zach Richardson, Hannah Richardson and great granddaughter Zoey. He was preceded in death by his son Russell Richardson Jr., daughter Connie Lee Richardson and son Ronald Lee Richardson. Russell was the son of Charlie A. Richardson and Velma Z. Richardson and had eight brothers and sisters that all preceded him in death: Lois, Charlie Jr., Howard, Betty, Joann, Francis, Jack and an infant brother. The Services will be held at Mayridge Baptist Church in Oklahoma City on Saturday June 2nd at 10am with internment following at Mustang Cemetery under the direction of McNeil’s Mustang Funeral Service, Mustang, OK.
